The primary purpose of this internationally renowned aquarium was to present local species from the Atlantic Ocean. Since its creation in 1992, the Océarium has opened up to species from other oceans to now offer more than 4000 animals which live and develop in more than 55 aquariums. This remarkable site is also a place of exchange and know-how where the team of keepers is in permanent contact with aquariums around the world. This important work carried out behind the scenes aims to make this fauna and flora prosper.
